About the role
Join Cheeverstown House as a Care Assistant supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in our New Directions hubs. Working Monday to Friday, you will help individuals live full, active lives through creative activities, outings, skill development and advocacy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide person‑centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.
- Plan and deliver creative activities, community outings and independent‑living skill sessions.
- Advocate for each person’s needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team across all resident services.
- Maintain accurate records and use IT systems for documentation.
Required profile
- Motivated, compassionate and energetic team player.
- Strong commitment to a person‑centred approach and community inclusion.
- Flexibility to work in a variety of settings and activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with good listening skills.
- Alignment with Cheeverstown’s values and dedication to enhancing lives of people with intellectual disability and autism.
Required skills
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care/Healthcare (all 8 modules completed).
- Knowledge of the Health Act 2007.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
