About the role
UNSW School of Mathematics and Statistics is seeking qualified individuals for casual teaching positions. The role involves delivering tutorials, labs, demonstrations and marking for first‑year mathematics courses, providing flexible work to support the School’s large tutorial programme.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct tutorials for first‑year mathematics subjects, including algebra and calculus.
- Run laboratory sessions and practical demonstrations as required.
- Mark assignments, quizzes and examinations.
- Participate in a short demonstration tutorial for staff, solving and explaining algebra and calculus problems.
Required profile
- Relevant qualifications in mathematics, statistics or a related discipline.
- Legal right to work in Australia and an Australian bank account.
- Ability to present a demonstration tutorial to staff members.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of first‑year university algebra and calculus.
- Experience delivering tutorials or teaching sessions.
