Community Champion

About the role

Specsavers is seeking a confident, outgoing Community Champion to represent its Headford Road store in Galway. You will be the friendly face of the brand, building relationships with local groups and promoting eye and hearing health across the community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong connections with schools, charities, and local organisations.
• Plan and deliver community events, health‑awareness activities and outreach programmes.
• Act as a proactive ambassador for the store, initiating conversations and opening doors.
• Identify opportunities to raise awareness of eye and hearing health and turn them into action.
• Create engaging stories for social media and local press to showcase community impact.
• Support in‑store teams by bringing in new partnerships and engagement opportunities.
• Split time between field visits and remote planning, follow‑up and communication.
• Travel throughout Galway as part of the weekly routine.

Required profile

• Natural communicator comfortable approaching new people and building rapport quickly.
• Enjoys community work and can also work independently from home.
• Self‑starter, motivated and persistent, able to lead outreach activities.
• Strong face‑to‑face and phone communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
• Resilient, enthusiastic and able to handle changing plans.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects across two locations.
• Full driving licence.
