Community Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Community Software Engineer to help drive community‑driven development for n8n, an open‑source workflow automation platform. You will work remotely with our European team to review contributions, improve processes, and ensure high‑quality extensions for our growing builder community.

Key responsibilities

• Review community pull requests, provide clear feedback, and maintain a two‑week review SLA.
• Guide contributors through the review process and help automate contribution workflows.
• Debug and fix bugs in the n8n codebase that affect community nodes, APIs, or workflow behavior.
• Vet community‑submitted nodes for quality, security, and usability, and suggest documentation improvements.
• Collaborate with internal maintainers to ship reliable fixes and enhancements.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in production environments.
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve bugs that involve external APIs, SDKs, and authentication flows.
• Comfortable working with open‑source contributors and providing constructive feedback.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
