Data & BI Engineer

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing financial services organisation, is looking for a Data & BI Engineer to design and deliver scalable data solutions that enable strategic decision‑making across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and data models for reporting and analytics.
• Analyse system logs and datasets to troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues.
• Develop and enhance BI solutions, ensuring high‑quality visualisation and reporting.
• Collaborate with Product, QA and DevOps teams to deliver robust data solutions.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives in development, deployment and data processes.
• Participate in architectural discussions and provide input on system and data design.
• Document technical solutions, workflows and processes for knowledge sharing.
• Support the creation of internal tools and automation to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in data engineering or BI engineering.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex query development and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience with data warehousing, data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience working with large‑scale datasets and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with testing strategies (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) and software development best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex technical issues.
