Data Engineer – Remote (Ireland or Philippines)

About the role

Cofense, the leading cybersecurity platform dedicated to stopping phishing, is looking for a Data Engineer to join its remote team. The role focuses on integrating and transforming data from Cofense’s security applications, micro‑services and other sources to support analytics and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and cloud engineers to design the data platform and architecture.
• Build and maintain data pipelines on Azure or AWS, using Python and cloud‑native services.
• Develop ETL processes to move structured and semi‑structured SaaS data into data lakes and warehouses.
• Write complex SQL scripts, automate them with Python, and create test cases and unit tests.
• Ensure end‑to‑end data security and compliance with privacy regulations.
• Design and expose ad‑hoc reporting APIs and service layers over OLTP/OLAP stores.
• Integrate the data platform with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Splunk.
• Perform data mining to identify trends, anomalies and key metrics.

Required profile

• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL OLTP databases and OLAP warehousing, especially AWS Aurora.
• Proven ability to model data and build pipelines for multi‑product or multi‑department environments.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and data‑lake services.
• Ability to develop, test and document data transformations following software‑engineering best practices.
