Digital Bookkeeper – Cork

About the role

We are looking for a Digital Bookkeeper to join our ABAS and Outsourcing team in Cork. This role offers the chance to develop your career in a supportive environment while working with a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out bookkeeping tasks for clients as directed.
• Lead projects to correct and optimise clients' bookkeeping systems.
• Perform bank reconciliations for all clients.
• Execute control‑account reconciliations as required.
• Utilise Dext and other applications to improve workflow efficiency.
• Prepare VAT returns ready for client‑manager review.
• Plan and manage personal time to maximise profitability and protect the firm’s reputation.
• Maintain high standards of personal organisation and deliver excellent client service.
• Adhere to firm policies, procedures and ethical standards, and fulfil CPD obligations.

Required profile

• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Big Red Book or QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of core accounting apps, particularly Dext.
• Proficiency with sector tools including Excel, Word and email systems.
• Ability to draft commercially sensible client correspondence.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented yet capable of working independently.
• Solution‑focused mindset.
