Domestic Assistant – Hospital Support Services

About the role

We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join the Support Services team at Stratheden Hospital. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment across wards and other hospital departments, working primarily during evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties in patient wards, corridors, and communal areas.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Work the designated shift pattern: two 4‑hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, 3 pm – 7 pm.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Shift Leader.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no sponsorship available).
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
