About the role
The Electrical Day Technician will be trained across all predictive maintenance processes, CMMS (Pemac), reliability techniques and a wide range of plant equipment including HV/LV distribution, turbines, boilers, compressors, diesel generators and pumps. The role is based on‑site in Clondalkin and may require occasional shift back‑fill or emergency support outside normal hours.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate day‑to‑day activities with shift technicians, especially during morning change‑over.
- Act as the primary contact for external service providers.
- Troubleshoot and conduct high‑level investigations of utility plant faults, performing root‑cause analysis.
- Record and investigate deviations, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Execute planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion of PMs.
- Develop and maintain PMs, job plans and SOPs within the CMMS.
- Liaise with the site planner to identify spare‑part requirements and optimise the maintenance programme.
- Support the Site Engineer and HV Engineer on root‑cause analysis, capital projects, commissioning and complex service isolations.
- Identify, develop and implement continuous‑improvement measures for plant efficiency.
Required profile
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in HV and LV distribution systems.
- Hands‑on knowledge of electrical generation turbines, diesel generators, boilers, fuel‑oil storage and industrial gas installations.
- Ability to make leadership decisions on plant operation, offline procedures and emergency response.
- Proven capability to mentor and develop team members in resolving complex plant deviations.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional out‑of‑hours support.
