Engineering Lead – Microservices (Hybrid, Dublin)

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Lead to drive the design and delivery of large‑scale, enterprise‑grade micro‑services solutions within a leading financial services organisation. The role is hybrid, based in Dublin, and will run initially for six months with a high likelihood of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end design, development and deployment of micro‑services‑based applications.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, championing best practices and technical standards across the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with architecture, product and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable, high‑performance solutions.
• Oversee integration with event‑driven messaging platforms such as Kafka and MQ.
• Manage and optimise database usage across DB2 and Cassandra environments.
• Ensure code quality, performance, security and compliance throughout delivery.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on technical leadership in complex, large‑scale programmes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience mentoring teams and driving delivery standards.
• Comfortable working at pace in a fast‑moving banking environment.
