Equipment Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Equipment Engineer to join the Design Assurance Lab team. The role focuses on developing, validating, and continuously improving test methods, equipment, and laboratory processes within a regulated medical‑device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Design Assurance Lab in introducing new test methods and associated hardware/software.
• Design, procure, develop and validate equipment, fixtures, and tooling used in the lab.
• Create basic test scripts or software programs to automate test processes.
• Collaborate with Operating Units and New Product Development to ensure consistent test‑method best practices.
• Identify new equipment and technology initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Lead and support root‑cause investigations related to test issues and drive problem‑solving efforts.
• Ensure corrective actions meet reliability standards and that documentation complies with requirements.
• Liaise with projects to facilitate timely test‑method validation activities.
• Support team members in executing project deliverables and coordinate related activities.

Required profile

• Degree level 8 in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the medical device or other regulated industry.
• Experience with equipment design, verification and validation (e.g., IQ, OQ) is desirable.
• Ability to work independently, identify and resolve issues without direct supervision.
• Strong communication skills in English and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• CAD (computer‑aided design) proficiency.
• Test scripting or basic software programming for automation.
• Equipment design and development.
• Verification and validation processes (IQ, OQ, etc.).
