Examinations & Assessment Manager – Economics/Accounting/Business

About the role

The State Examinations Commission (SEC) is seeking an Examinations and Assessment Manager to lead the economics, accounting or business examinations portfolio. This senior position sits within the Examinations and Assessment Division and reports to an Assistant Head, ensuring the quality, fairness and compliance of national state examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of examination papers and related materials for the assigned subject(s).
• Manage the marking process, develop marking schemes and handle appeals.
• Maintain year‑to‑year standards and ensure compliance with legislation on equality, anti‑discrimination and special educational needs.
• Advise on the recruitment, training and performance of contract staff.
• Provide professional advice to the SEC and liaise with school management and staff.
• Represent the SEC in national and international forums related to examinations.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in economics, accounting, business or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in examination development, assessment or curriculum management.
• Strong understanding of legislative requirements affecting state examinations.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Experience preparing examination papers and marking schemes.
• Knowledge of assessment standards and quality assurance processes.
