Fertility Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Fertility Nurse or Midwife to join our multidisciplinary team at ReproMed in Galway. You will be at the heart of patient care, supporting individuals through every stage of their fertility treatment both remotely and in‑person, while upholding our clinic’s standards of empathy, professionalism and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform transvaginal ultrasounds, including assessment scans, follicle tracking, cycle monitoring and early pregnancy scans.
• Carry out phlebotomy, cannulation, injection administration and provide nurse‑led patient consultations and education.
• Assist in theatre for egg collections, embryo transfers, hysteroscopies and surgical sperm retrievals, and perform intra‑uterine inseminations (IUIs).
• Coordinate treatment cycles, egg donation programmes and prepare prescriptions, blood test forms and therapy plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the clinic’s management software and liaise with third‑party clinics, pharmacies and obstetric services.
• Respond to patient calls and emails, conduct care check‑ins and provide counselling throughout the treatment journey.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Midwife (RM) with full NMBI registration.
• 2‑3 years post‑registration experience; fertility experience desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work under pressure within a busy, multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Transvaginal ultrasound operation.

• Blood sample processing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and patient management software.
