Head of Reserving - Motor & Casualty

About the role

Our client, a leading global insurance organisation, is seeking an experienced actuary to lead reserving for a complex international motor and casualty portfolio based in Dublin.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reserving oversight and valuation analysis for a complex international liability portfolio.
• Review and challenge reserving methodologies, assumptions and financial impacts, presenting insights to senior leadership.
• Partner with underwriting, finance and pricing teams to support portfolio performance, profitability and strategic decision‑making.
• Support business planning, governance and legal entity reserving requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across reserving processes, reporting and actuarial analysis while mentoring team members.

Required profile

• Qualified actuary with significant post‑qualified experience in non‑life insurance or consultancy.
• Strong reserving experience, ideally across complex international or specialty lines.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical actuarial analysis into business insight.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
