About the role
The Hotel Accountant will support the finance function of a hospitality operation, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role works closely with department heads to align financial processes with business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage effective roster planning to meet business demand and revenue targets.
- Produce weekly revenue forecasts for food, beverage, and spa services.
- Process payroll and related activities, including P30 returns.
- Prepare month‑end accounts, including profit & loss statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and bi‑monthly VAT returns.
- Oversee purchase and stock management in coordination with other department heads.
- Assist with year‑end audit activities and liaise with external auditors.
- Support monthly forecasts and the annual budgeting process.
- Maintain robust financial controls to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide financial insight to other departments to aid budgeting and profitability.
- Manage income streams from card, cash, cheque, and bank transfers.
- Perform ad‑hoc financial duties as required.
