kdb+ Engineer – Capital Markets Data Consultancy

About the role

Data Intellect is seeking a kdb+ Engineer to join its specialist data consultancy. You will work on high‑performance trading, risk and analytics systems for leading capital‑markets clients, collaborating with business users and senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users to define new application requirements.
• Develop, test and maintain clean, performant code for client applications using kdb+ and q.
• Support project delivery alongside Project Managers and Senior Engineers.
• Analyse large‑scale time‑series data and generate actionable reports.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on kdb+ development experience.
• Strong understanding of the q language and time‑series data structures.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Logical thinking, problem‑solving and client‑facing communication skills.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience in Capital Markets or Investment Banking is a plus.
