Modern Workplace Engineer (M365/Entra/Azure)

About the role

Our client, a leading professional services organisation, is looking for an experienced Modern Workplace Engineer to design, implement and support Microsoft 365 and Azure‑based solutions. The role is initially a 12‑month daily‑rate contract and can be performed remotely from anywhere in Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain Microsoft 365 and Azure workplace solutions across the enterprise.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID, managing identity, access and conditional‑access policies.
• Support core M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and Intune.
• Deliver security‑focused engineering initiatives, automation and user‑experience improvements.
• Maintain Azure infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and application teams to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex hybrid and cloud issues and participate in upgrades, migrations and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in modern workplace, infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Proven Azure engineering and hybrid cloud support experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
• Third‑level degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus.
