About the role

The Personalization and Recommendation Expert will shape the next generation of large‑scale personalization and recommendation systems for Huawei’s ecosystem. Working within the Ireland Research Centre, you will combine cutting‑edge research with practical implementation to deliver high‑quality, personalized experiences across multiple product domains.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive research directions for next‑generation personalization and recommendation, focusing on generative recommendation and large‑scale sequential modeling.
• Design, develop, and evaluate transformer‑based recommendation models, semantic ID representations, and efficient attention mechanisms for long sequences.
• Build unified recall and ranking architectures and establish principled evaluation frameworks for large‑scale models.
• Mentor junior team members, guide technical road‑maps, and translate promising research ideas into production‑ready systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to align research outcomes with business needs.

Required profile

• Senior researcher or technical leader with a strong track record in recommender‑system research.
• Hands‑on experience in large‑scale machine‑learning modeling and strategic technical judgment.
• Ability to define research road‑maps, lead projects, and mentor team members.
