Procurement Manager – Standalone Role

About the role

Our client, a growing Irish family‑owned SME, is looking for a Procurement Manager to own the end‑to‑end procurement function. This standalone position offers full autonomy to develop category strategies, manage supplier relationships and generate commercial value across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on cost optimisation and long‑term value.
• Lead the complete sourcing cycle for key categories, including market analysis, RFI/RFP preparation, negotiation and contract finalisation.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships, governance frameworks and performance metrics, embedding risk management and sustainability.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to capture requirements, forecast demand and identify savings and service improvements.
• Develop and roll out best‑practice procurement processes, tools and KPIs to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of procurement experience within an FMCG environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Good understanding of procurement governance, risk management and ethical/sustainable sourcing.
• Data‑driven mindset, comfortable using ERP or procurement systems and analytics tools.
• Excellent stakeholder and project management skills.
• CIPS qualification or equivalent preferred.
