Project Manager – Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading Irish main contractor’s Cork team. You will own projects from early design stages through to handover, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Keep project programmes on track and collaborate closely with the Contracts Manager on timelines.
• Lead and support the site team, mentoring junior staff as needed.
• Ensure the right people and resources are allocated at the right time.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the project.
• Monitor quality to guarantee compliance with specifications.
• Manage costs and work with the commercial team to stay within budget.
• Build and maintain solid client relationships, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and delays.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing construction projects, including new builds or fit‑outs.
• Experience with Design & Build projects is a plus.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver complex jobs.
• Strong technical understanding with good reporting and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with diverse stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to make cost‑effective decisions.
• Comfortable using MS Office and project planning tools such as MS Project.
