Project Manager – Structural Steel Projects

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large‑scale structural steel and cladding packages from design handover to final site handover. The role offers geographical variety across Ireland and the UK, managing landmark projects in multiple locations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle, controlling safety, quality, schedule and budgets for steelwork packages ranging from 500 to over 10,000 tonnes.
- Serve as the primary link between the internal design team, the automated fabrication workshop in Longford, and on‑site erection crews to ensure just‑in‑time delivery.
- Act as main point of contact for Tier‑1 contractors, client representatives, structural engineers and architects.
- Develop and maintain detailed master programmes using MS Project or Primavera, mitigating risks such as crane logistics, weather delays and site access constraints.
- Oversee HSE compliance, heavy‑lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments for steel erection at height.
Required profile
- 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication, heavy steel erection or specialised industrial envelope sectors.
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent technical trade background with extensive site management experience.
- Strong understanding of structural drawings, Tekla/BIM models and project planning software.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., Safe Pass, CSCS, Managing Safely in Construction) and experience reviewing temporary works designs and crane lift plans.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time‑keeping abilities.
