Reliability Engineer

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join its Westport site. In this individual‑contributor role you will support the Maintenance Excellence Program by applying advanced reliability engineering methods to improve equipment performance and drive cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and obtain senior‑leadership endorsement for a reliability roadmap for the business unit.
• Lead Reliability‑Centred Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, Preventive Maintenance optimisation and reliability improvement projects.
• Expand the predictive maintenance programme, track yearly cost‑saving logs and link actions to financial benefit.
• Analyse highly automated machinery to create a top‑10 “bad actor” profile and execute corrective actions for the highest‑value detractors.
• Build strong relationships with global, local engineering and maintenance teams and contribute to the reliability engineering community of practice.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards while championing EHS best practices.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a regulated and/or highly automated environment.
• Strong data‑analytics capability.
• Experience or certification in reliability engineering and continuous improvement (Green Belt, CMRP or CRL preferred).
• Proven ability to analyse machinery, implement improvements and quantify gains in OEE.
