Senior Android Developer – POS & Payment Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our Dublin team and work on embedded Android platforms used in point‑of‑sale (POS) devices. You will be responsible for delivering secure, high‑performance payment applications that comply with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications in Java and Kotlin for AOSP‑based POS devices.
• Integrate device‑specific SDKs, especially PAX hardware, and implement payment flows such as EMV and contactless/NFC.
• Prepare certification artefacts, logs and test cases for Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
• Implement automated unit, integration and UI tests and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
• Debug applications on physical devices, handling serial, USB, Bluetooth and NFC communications.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Android development (Java/Kotlin) on embedded/AOSP variants.
• Proven work with POS device SDKs and hardware integration.
• Good understanding of payment terminal flows, EMV lifecycle and security standards (PCI, EMV kernel).
• Experience in regulated financial or fintech environments.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
