Senior Financial Accountant – Contract (Dublin)

About the role

This contract position is for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant within a global pharmaceutical company. The role sits in the Global Supply Chain & Cost Accounting function and works across the US, Ireland and India, focusing on financial reporting, month‑end close and business partnering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month/quarter‑end close and prepare financial and management reporting packs for senior stakeholders.
• Prepare and review inventory accounting and global reconciliations in SAP.
• Support annual budget preparation and standard cost setting in collaboration with the FP&A team.
• Analyse production order and purchase price variances, providing clear financial commentary.
• Manage SOX controls across multiple jurisdictions and support automation and simplification initiatives.
• Partner with FP&A and cross‑functional teams to improve processes and reporting accuracy.
• Supervise and review the work of a third‑party shared business service provider.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• 4–5+ years post‑qualification experience in a multinational or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong financial reporting and month‑end close experience.
• Experience with SAP is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to SOX compliance is an advantage.
• Confident communicator able to work independently and manage stakeholders at all levels.
