Senior Financial Accountant – Maternity Leave (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Maples Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to cover a maternity leave period on a fixed‑term basis. Based in our Dublin hub, you will work within a hybrid model, supporting the finance function for Jersey and UK legal entities while collaborating with a global team of legal and financial professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including analysis and commentary.
• Oversee the full revenue cycle, monitor client balances, and manage all financial transaction cycles.
• Prepare and review journal entries and supervise balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Compile annual statutory accounts and liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations such as VAT, regulatory filings, and board reporting.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide financial insights to senior management.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with at least 2 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and pragmatic thinking with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.
