Senior Mechanical Engineer – Dublin

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will join the Engineering Department of an Irish business, leading the design and delivery of mechanical systems across a range of projects. Based in Dublin, the role involves close collaboration with internal teams, customers, utilities and contractors to ensure high‑quality, compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of HVAC, plumbing, public health and energy systems.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Ensure designs meet Irish Building Regulations, health & safety legislation and ESG sustainability requirements.
• Manage projects from concept through commissioning, controlling scope, budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, civil and process disciplines.
• Review contractor submittals, technical queries and value‑engineering proposals.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities on site.

Required profile

• Degree or Level 7/8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years post‑qualification experience in mechanical design.
• Strong knowledge of Irish electrical standards, building regulations (Part B, L, M) and health & safety legislation.
• Experience delivering projects in Ireland or the EU.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or progress towards accreditation is preferred.
