Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join its Load Balancer Operations Team in Ireland. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of load balancer platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across the enterprise network.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily administration, monitoring, and upgrades of load balancer appliances and systems.
• Back up and renew PKI certificates and configuration files.
• Identify and resolve complex network and application traffic issues, focusing on performance, resilience, and security.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to translate business and technical requirements into monitoring strategies.
• Develop automation to improve troubleshooting efficiency and overall platform stability.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of load balancer operations and manage complex issues within the functional area.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in internet and data‑center architecture and monitoring standards.
• Extensive experience with load balancers and web application firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of network connectivity, including IPv4, IPv6, and port assignments.
• Proven ability to drive multi‑team troubleshooting sessions toward optimal solutions.
