Senior Project Manager – Solar & Electrical Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of commercial solar projects for a fast‑growing solar and electrical engineering firm. The role involves overseeing contractor teams, managing one direct report, and ensuring projects meet time, budget and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of multiple commercial solar projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, and quality outcomes.
• Develop and manage programme plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers and performance metrics.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• Manage contracts, resource planning and cost control to optimise programme performance.
• Act as primary point of contact for clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, investors, utilities and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and issue resolution.
• Monitor KPIs and provide regular reporting on progress, cost, schedule and ROI.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best‑practice implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years’ experience managing commercial or utility‑scale projects, including at least 2 years in solar energy.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale programmes with strong budget and stakeholder management.
• Project management certification or recognised qualification preferred.
