Senior Software Engineer – Financial Services

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services firm, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive complex technical initiatives, shape architectural direction, and deliver secure, scalable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of backend, frontend, and cloud‑based systems.
• Improve architecture for scalability, resilience, maintainability and performance.
• Investigate critical incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
• Collaborate across product, design, QA and operations to ensure end‑to‑end feature delivery.
• Mentor engineers on coding standards, problem‑solving and professional growth.
• Participate in technical design reviews and guide long‑term engineering decisions.
• Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks to boost delivery efficiency.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience, including senior or lead roles.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and work with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and experience troubleshooting complex systems.
• Experience delivering solutions aligned with business strategy and stakeholder priorities.

Required skills

• Python with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• API design and development, data modeling, distributed systems.
• Frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Cloud‑native or serverless application deployment on AWS.
• CI/CD pipeline creation and cloud infrastructure automation (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• DevOps practices and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Software security principles and performance optimization.
• AI‑enabled engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
