Site Manager

About the role

JJ Rhatigan Company, a leading building contractor in Ireland and the UK, is seeking an experienced Site Manager for its Galway office. You will lead the day‑to‑day operations of multi‑million‑euro construction projects, ensuring safety, quality and schedule performance across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee logistical management and upkeep of team offices, welfare facilities, subcontractor zones, loading areas and site roadways.
• Implement and monitor the Health & Safety plan, including inductions, method statements, risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Supervise the workforce to guarantee safe working methods and compliance with HSE regulations.
• Conduct bi‑weekly safety inspections and manage on‑site accidents, near‑misses and corrective actions.
• Prepare and update Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) using BIM and ensure adherence to the Environmental Management Plan.
• Drive QA/QC processes, generate daily diaries, record labour hours and issue non‑conformance reports (NCRs).
• Coordinate short‑term programmes for subcontractors and provide progress updates for weekly reports.
• Maintain accurate records, generate system reports and ensure statutory HS documentation is readily available.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction sites of similar scale.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and liaise with foremen, project managers and EHS personnel.
• Excellent organisational skills with a focus on documentation and reporting.
