Tax Manager

About the role

This position is with a well‑established, medium‑sized firm of accountants and tax advisors. Reporting to the Tax Partner, the Tax Manager will lead a small team and deliver both advisory and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling tax compliance and consultancy projects.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships while expanding an external professional network.
• Assist in the overall management of the tax department, including work‑in‑progress, billing, and fee collection.
• Collaborate with Partners, Directors, and Managers on tax consultancy engagements.
• Liaise with other departments to identify and implement tax planning opportunities for existing clients.

Required profile

• Qualified Tax Professional and/or qualified accountant.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all tax heads.
• Prior managerial experience at assistant‑manager or manager level.
• Proven ability to manage and develop junior staff.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
