Tax Manager

About the role

This position is with a progressive, medium‑sized firm of accountants and tax advisors. Reporting to the Tax Partner, the Tax Manager will lead a portfolio of SME clients, delivering both advisory and compliance services across all tax heads.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling compliance and consultancy projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing clients while expanding an external network.
• Assist in tax group administration, including work‑in‑progress, billing and fee collection.
• Collaborate with Partners, Directors and Managers on tax consultancy engagements.
• Liaise with other departments to identify tax planning opportunities for clients.

Required profile

• Qualified Tax Professional and/or qualified accountant.
• Good working knowledge of all tax heads.
• Prior managerial experience at assistant manager or manager level.
• Proven ability to manage and develop junior staff.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
