Tax Manager

About the role

This position is for a Tax Manager within a well‑established medium‑sized accountancy and tax advisory firm. Reporting to the Tax Partner, you will lead a small team and deliver both advisory and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, handling tax compliance and consultancy projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing clients while expanding your external network.
• Assist in managing the tax department’s workflow, including work‑in‑progress, billing, and fee collection.
• Collaborate with Partners, Directors and Managers on tax consultancy engagements.
• Liaise with other departments to identify tax planning opportunities for clients.

Required profile

• Qualified Tax Professional and/or qualified accountant.
• Strong working knowledge of all tax heads.
• Prior managerial experience at assistant‑manager or manager level.
• Proven ability to manage and develop junior staff.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
