Human Resources Generalist

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Human Resources Generalist to support a leading seafood processing business in Ireland. The role combines day‑to‑day HR administration with compliance, audit preparation and internal governance, helping to build a professional, people‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, inductions and off‑boarding.
• Maintain accurate employee files, HR records and HRIS data.
• Prepare employment contracts, letters and other HR documentation.
• Support managers with disciplinary, grievance, investigation and absence processes.
• Ensure compliance with Irish employment legislation and company policies.
• Coordinate probation reviews, performance management and training programmes.
• Assist with payroll administration and employee benefits where required.
• Support compliance with SMETA, customer codes of practice and internal standards, and prepare for audits.
• Maintain compliance documentation, coordinate corrective‑action follow‑up and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Promote a positive health, safety and food‑industry compliance culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, food production or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to handle employee‑relations issues confidentially and professionally.
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
