Mechanical Engineer

About the role

WGNSTAR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support customers throughout the semiconductor manufacturing process. The role focuses on adhering to standard operating procedures while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and quality in a cleanroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and unscheduled corrective maintenance on semiconductor equipment.
• Work on electrical and mechanical sub‑assemblies and systems.
• Document root‑cause analysis, problem‑solving steps, data logging and corrective actions.
• Maintain cleanroom and company protocols, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks in line with process specifications.
• Utilise MS Office and the company’s in‑house computer system for reporting.

Required profile

• Electrical and mechanically minded with at least 2 years of hands‑on mechanical and maintenance experience in high‑volume manufacturing.
• Strong team player with excellent organisational, time‑keeping and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to varied tasks, prioritise activities and work a 4‑shift, 12‑hour schedule (including weekends).

Required skills

• Technical or mechanical qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) or equivalent industrial experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and electric meters.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
