About the role
Dublin City University seeks an Assistant Professor to lead and deliver modules within its Education & Human Development programmes. The role focuses on child, adolescent and adult development, critical media literacy, and the analysis of social and global inequalities.
Key responsibilities
- Design, teach, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including post‑primary placement courses.
- Integrate critical media literacy and justice‑oriented perspectives into curricula.
- Support student teachers and educational practitioners in developing critical thinking skills.
- Research and contribute to scholarship on how wealth, gender, race, geography, and environment shape educational outcomes.
- Participate in departmental governance, curriculum development, and academic community activities.
Required profile
- PhD in Education, Human Development, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at the higher‑education level.
- Strong research record addressing development, media literacy, or inequality in education.
- Ability to mentor student teachers and collaborate with educational practitioners.
