Multi Skilled Operative – Cork

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Operative to join the Portakabin Ireland team in Cork. The role involves refurbishing, fitting out and installing hire and sales units, handling small projects and occasional maintenance calls, and ensuring the hire fleet and sales units are maintained, repaired and cleaned.

Key responsibilities

• Load and off‑load cabins and move units around the site.
• Paint and decorate the hire fleet.
• Fit and replace doors and windows, build partitions, and repair walls and floors.
• Maintain a safe, organised and compliant working environment in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Carry out refurbishment, fit‑out and installation activities according to technical specifications, SOPs, RAMS and company standards.
• Apply trade skills independently, solve problems and escalate issues when required.
• Work to agreed refurbishment and fit‑out timescales to support cost‑effective project delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support activities outside your primary trade when qualified.

Required profile

• Operational experience in carpentry, slinger/signaller work or painting.
• Practical experience in a construction environment and on site/yard refurbishment and fit‑out practices.
• Full Irish driving licence.
• Industry‑recognised trade qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs, risk assessments and method statements.
