Account Director – Commercial Lines, Broking

About the role

The Account Director – Commercial Lines, Broking will manage a portfolio of existing commercial insurance clients while driving new business acquisition. Working within a dynamic team in Cork, you will ensure high‑quality service, meet revenue targets and support junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client insurance requirements, including renewals, mid‑year alterations and claims handling.
• Provide guidance to Account Executives and achieve upsell/cross‑sell targets.
• Control aged debt, premium collection and comply with audit requirements.
• Source, quote and convert new commercial insurance business to meet acquisition and referral goals.
• Build long‑term trusted relationships with customers, offering expert advice.
• Deliver professional, action‑oriented customer service to enhance loyalty.
• Collaborate with Account Executives, Team Lead and other stakeholders to meet team targets.
• Work with compliance teams to ensure file quality meets standards.

Required profile

• CIP qualification minimum, studying towards ACII.
• Strong communication and client‑relationship skills.
• High energy, positive attitude and ability to adapt to change.
• Attention to detail, self‑starter with ability to manage deadlines.
• Negotiation aptitude and solid technical/product knowledge of commercial insurance.
