Assistant Project Manager – Data Centers

About the role

AECOM is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of mission‑critical data centre and colocation projects from our Dublin office. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design development through procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring high standards of performance, reliability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior project managers in coordinating design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for data centre projects.
• Act as a day‑to‑day contact for clients, translating technical, operational and commercial requirements into project deliverables.
• Monitor project progress against schedule, cost and risk targets, and report deviations.
• Support quality assurance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives specific to data centre best practices.
• Coordinate activities on moderately complex, mission‑critical projects, ensuring alignment with programme milestones and operational constraints.

Required profile

• Experience in the building or construction sector, preferably with exposure to data centre or colocation facilities.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the full RIBA stages (0‑7) and their application to data centre infrastructure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of data centre design, resilience and redundancy standards.
• Familiarity with commissioning processes for mission‑critical facilities.
