Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Dublin/Leinster

About the role

John Paul Construction is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of high‑profile residential, commercial, healthcare, civil and mixed‑use projects across the Dublin and Leinster region. You will work closely with senior surveyors and project teams to ensure financial performance aligns with client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing all commercial aspects of projects from pre‑construction to final account.
• Help prepare and monitor budgets, cost reports and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor coordination.
• Participate in valuations, variations and the preparation of final accounts.
• Identify and flag commercial risks under the guidance of senior staff.
• Liaise with clients, design teams and site management to resolve commercial issues.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in construction quantity surveying, preferably on large‑scale projects.
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
