Bakery Assistant

About the role

The Bakery Assistant will support the Centra bakery team in Roscommon, ensuring that fresh products are prepared, displayed and sold to the highest standards. This full‑time, on‑site role involves direct interaction with customers and collaboration with colleagues in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items according to daily production schedules.
• Take and fulfil customer bakery orders, providing recommendations and sharing product knowledge.
• Maintain attractive and hygienic display cases across all fresh‑food sections throughout the day.
• Handle customer queries professionally and in line with store policy.
• Uphold Centra’s brand values – Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community‑Based – in every interaction.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment and multitask under pressure.
• Passion for food and a desire to inspire shoppers.
• Previous customer service experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• HACCP training or knowledge (desirable but not mandatory).
