CAD Technician – Structural & Transportation Design

About the role

We are looking for a CAD Technician to produce detailed structural drawings for bridges and other transportation infrastructure. The role involves creating reinforcement and steel detailing, interpreting engineering data, and ensuring designs meet all relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings for bridges, culverts, retaining walls and related structures.
• Produce reinforcement detailing for concrete elements, including rebar layouts, bending schedules and placement drawings.
• Develop steel detailing for bridge components such as girders, bracing and connections.
• Interpret engineering calculations, specifications and design sketches to generate accurate construction drawings.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and multidisciplinary teams to reflect design intent.
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards and project specifications.
• Use CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit or similar) to create and update drawings.
• Review and revise drawings based on engineer comments, design changes and client feedback.
• Prepare general arrangement, section and construction detail drawings for transportation structures.

Required profile

• Proven ability to produce detailed structural and reinforcement drawings for transportation projects.
• Experience interpreting engineering calculations and specifications.
• Strong coordination skills with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and project specifications.
