Community & Online Cancer Awareness Nurse

About the role

The Marie Keating Foundation is seeking a registered nurse to deliver cancer prevention, awareness and support services across the West of Ireland. You will travel with a driver (or self‑drive when needed) to bring information directly to communities, schools and workplaces.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face‑to‑face education on healthy lifestyles and cancer risk reduction using mobile information units.
• Collect basic data after events to evaluate reach and impact.
• Deliver the Schools Cancer Awareness Programme to secondary students and adult learners.
• Facilitate corporate wellness workshops and webinars, ensuring a reliable Wi‑Fi connection.
• Co‑facilitate Survive and Thrive programmes for cancer survivors.
• Represent the Foundation in local media or interviews, with media training provided.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the West of Ireland.
• Confident public speaker able to discuss cancer concerns with individuals and groups.
• Ability to collaborate with coordinators, drivers and local health professionals.
