Conference & Event Manager

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Conference & Event Manager to join the leadership team of one of Galway’s most iconic hotels. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding meetings, conferences, banquets and special occasions, ensuring every guest experience reflects our commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination and execution of conferences, events, banquets and special functions.
• Develop and manage event budgets, negotiate with suppliers and ensure profitability.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing and operations teams to maximise venue utilisation.
• Maintain high standards of service, health and safety compliance throughout all events.
• Analyse post‑event feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conference, events or banqueting management within a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Commitment to delivering a premium guest experience.

Required skills

• Event budgeting and financial control.
• Supplier negotiation and contract management.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for events.
• Proficiency with event management software (e.g., Cvent, EventPro).
