Conference & Events Manager

About the role

The Salthill Hotel is seeking an experienced Conference & Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of conferences, banquets, weddings and other events. You will work closely with the Wedding & Events Manager and the wider hotel team to ensure each function runs smoothly and exceeds guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, coordinate and communicate event bookings, ensuring accurate billing and up‑to‑date client profiles.
• Upsell products and services throughout the event lifecycle to maximise revenue.
• Lead, train and schedule the Conference & Banqueting team, ensuring briefings are delivered in advance of each function.
• Oversee set‑up of function rooms, checking comfort, lighting, temperature and AV equipment.
• Maintain accurate charges for meetings, conferences and dinners and follow through to guest departure.
• Collaborate with Sales and Food & Beverage outlets to meet specifications for weddings, conferences and events.
• Track guest feedback, measure satisfaction and implement improvement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, hotel policies and service standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing conferences, banquets and large‑scale events in a hotel environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering high‑quality guest experiences.

Required skills

• AV system operation and troubleshooting.
