Construction Contracts Manager

About the role

The Contracts Manager will oversee a portfolio of construction projects for a Tier‑2 main contractor, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards. Reporting to the Contracts Director and Managing Director, you will act as the key liaison between site teams, design consultants and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Produce weekly site and project reports for senior management.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, QS, and Head Office to secure essential documentation and services.
• Manage project programmes, monitor progress and drive on‑time handover.
• Maintain site safety compliance in partnership with the Safety Manager.
• Prepare, issue and track construction programmes, communicating changes to the design team and project manager.
• Represent the company at site meetings and deliver professional progress and contractor reports.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, building regulations and best practice.
• Maintain accurate site records, diaries and allocation sheets.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years senior management experience, including at least 3 years as a Contracts Manager within a main‑contractor environment.
• Degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven leadership with strong negotiation, communication and team‑management abilities.
• Technical expertise in interpreting drawings, specifications and works requirements.
