Contract Manager - Structural Steel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead the structural steel team on site. You will oversee foremen, steel erectors and subcontractors while ensuring quality, safety and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise site foremen, steel erectors and other subcontractors.
• Oversee subcontractor selection, on‑site progress and adherence to quality and H&S standards.
• Keep senior management updated on site progress and commercial issues.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Maintain comprehensive site records for labour, plant, materials and staff to support cost substantiation.
• Document variations and additions monthly and assist with final account preparation.
• Participate actively in site meetings, addressing commercial matters and resolving problems.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of site experience with structural steel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Experience in contracts management for steelwork fabricators, especially high‑rise industrial/commercial projects.
• Proven ability to prioritize under tight time, quality and budget constraints.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and CE marking.
• Self‑disciplined, conscientious approach.

What we offer
