Deli Assistant – Fresh Food Counter

About the role

We are looking for a Deli Assistant to join our Centra store in Killala. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality hot and cold deli items while ensuring excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes and sliced meats following portion-control standards.
• Cook, assemble and display deli products throughout the day.
• Maintain clean and attractive counter displays in all fresh-food sections.
• Share product knowledge, recipes and recommendations with shoppers.
• Handle customer queries promptly and in line with store policy.
• Work the Saturday and Sunday shifts (08:00‑15:00) as scheduled.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team and multitask under pressure.
• Passion for food and willingness to inspire customers.
• Previous customer-service experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• HACCP training (desirable but not mandatory).
