Deli Assistant – Fresh Food Service

About the role

Join SPAR Dunleer as a Deli Assistant, where you will prepare high‑quality hot and cold deli products while ensuring every customer leaves satisfied. This full‑time position offers a dynamic environment in a busy retail food department.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh‑food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, and hot dishes.
• Cook, assemble, and display deli items throughout the day.
• Maintain the highest standards for counter displays in all fresh‑food sections.
• Share product knowledge, recipes, and personal recommendations with shoppers.
• Handle customer queries efficiently, professionally, and in line with store policy.

Required profile

• Passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous customer‑service experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment and multitask under pressure.

Required skills

• HACCP training (desirable but not mandatory).

• Full‑time employment with shifts Monday to Sunday.
• Flexible shift times: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm or 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
