About the role

Join the lively fresh‑food department at SPAR Eastgate in Little Island, Cork, as a Deli Assistant. You will create tasty sandwiches, salads and meals each day while working with a friendly, customer‑focused team. The role is full‑time with an early start at 5 am and an early finish at 2 pm, giving you free afternoons.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold food products for the deli and fresh‑food area.
• Support the department manager in daily operations.
• Maintain HACCP and food‑safety compliance.
• Keep the fresh‑food section clean and tidy according to company policy.
• Serve customers with a smile, handling queries professionally.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by store management.

Required profile

• Vibrant, hard‑working and enthusiastic about food preparation.
• Enjoys an early‑morning schedule and having afternoons free.
• Friendly, customer‑service oriented and able to work as part of a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP compliance.
• Understanding of food‑safety procedures.
